Joanne has over 30 years’ experience working in schools, with 18 years in international schools in UK, Singapore, Philippines and Saudi Arabia. She graduated with a Bachelor of Education (Honours) from Coventry University. Joanne also gained an MA in Special Educational Needs in 2007 and completed additional postgraduate training to become a specialist teacher for learners with specific learning difficulties.

She has taught in a wide range of school settings in the UK, Brunei, Singapore and the Philippines and in a variety of roles including DT teacher, SENCo and Head of Learning Support. Most recently, Joanne spent five years in Saudi Arabia where she was Director of Student Services for a group of British schools.

As an experienced support teacher, Joanne’s approach focuses on identifying barriers to learning and providing tailored support to individual and small groups of students. The support builds on the students’ strengths and aims to address the challenges they experience. She also enjoys working with teachers to develop their understanding of learning differences and difficulties and on developing classroom-based strategies to support children.

Joanne enjoys cooking, experimenting with new foods and flavours in the kitchen and enjoys photography and developing her photography skills.
