Viet Dung, Class of 2025 Alumnus, Officially Joins Boston University

We proudly congratulate Viet Dung – a Class of 2025 alumnus from BVIS HCMC – on receiving offers from five highly regarded universities in the United States: 

• Boston University 
• University of Washington
• University of Wisconsin–Madison
• Fordham University Michigan State University 

With a long-term goal of pursuing a career in Finance and contributing to his family’s business, Dung has chosen to study at Boston University – a university recognised for its excellence in Finance education. BU is currently ranked #41 nationally by U.S. News & World Report and is among the top 75 universities in the world according to Times Higher Education. Another prestigious offer came from the University of Washington, a top research university ranked #46 in the U.S. and within the top 10 nationally for research.

Receiving admission offers for programmes in Finance and Industrial Engineering at five leading universities highlights Dung’s strong academic abilities, outstanding effort, and unique personal character. 

Dung’s profile stood out to admissions committees thanks to: 

• 4 A grades in the AS Level examinations in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Economics, administered by Cambridge International Education (CIE)
•  IELTS score: 8.0 and SAT score: 1430 
• Active member of the Cheeseboys student band, regularly performing at BVIS Live Lunch events 
• Composer and performer at external concerts, including the “Night of New Melodies” showcase 
• Runner-up at the Ho Chi Minh City Football Championship 2025 as a member of the U19 Bulldog Football Team 

“My teachers and peers at BVIS have taught me how to compete in a healthy and constructive way – which I believe is incredibly important. The A Level programme not only helped me build perseverance but also taught me how to think critically and find creative solutions,” Dung shared.

 This is Dung’s favourite quote – a reminder to himself and to others who are on a similar journey.
