OUR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL FEES EXPLAINED

Léman International School Chengdu’s fees are designed to be as inclusive as possible, covering not only your child’s academic tuition, but also many core elements of school life.

These include exciting global opportunities through Nord Anglia Education. Our pioneering collaborations with MIT, Juilliard, and UNICEF – as well as opportunities to compete, learn, and perform on an international stage – will enrich your child’s education, both in and beyond the classroom. Our fees also include exam entrance, our school bus service, and an exciting annual residential trip.

Alongside all academic teaching and learning, our tuition fees include the following:

Other fees

Application fee: RMB 2,500 (new students only)
A non-refundable fee that’s payable when you submit your application.

Enrolment deposit: RMB 20,000 (new students only)
A non-refundable fee that’s payable when you accept an offer of a place at LIS Chengdu. Your deposit will be credited against the next term’s tuition fees.

Re-enrolment deposit (returning students only)
Payable by 30th May each year to guarantee a place for the following school year. This deposit will be credited against the next term’s tuition fees.

Lunch fees

Léman International School Chengdu (LIS) contracts its lunch services to Chartwells. Chartwells is part of the Compass group, which provides food services worldwide, including to other Nord Anglia Education schools.

Our cafeteria offers a full lunch daily. Our menu contains nutritious, balanced meal options for students of all age groups.

Lunch fees are payable directly to Chartwells. The money is then loaded on to a student’s lunch card.

Payment can be made in cash, by debit card, WeChat, or bank transfer. To pay, please contact the school cafeteria by manager: lemanschool@compass-group.com.cn.

School uniform

All our students wear a uniform, and items can be purchased online or from the school’s uniform shop.

Optional after-school activities

Alongside our many free extracurricular clubs, parents can choose from a range of paid activities, provided by outside professionals.

Laptop and calculator

Year 7-13 students are expected to have their own laptop. Year 10-13 students should also have the Ti-Nspire graphing calculator. A TI-Nspire calculator equipped with computer algebra systems (CAS) is not allowed, however.

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Payment Dates
    Families can pay their fees annually or in two instalments. Please note, payment should be received within 30 days of the tuition invoice being issued.

    Students can only attend school if their fees have been paid. Overdue payments will incur a penalty of 5% on the outstanding amount due.

    If a student enrols after 1st October, their tuition fee will be charged by prorated school days, but with a minimum of 10% of the annual fee. For students enrolled after 30th December, the tuition should be paid in one full payment. 

  • Making a payment

    Payment can be made via electronic bank transfer or debit card. We also accept cash payments; however, these can only be made in Chinese currency (RMB). Credit cards are not accepted. 

    If you choose to transfer the money electronically, a copy of the bank remittance, together with the child’s name and year group, should be sent to our office. Conversion from USD to RMB will be based on the selling exchange rate on the first working day of the month the invoice was issued, as published by the Bank of China. 

    Parents wanting to pay in USD should get in touch with our finance office. They will provide an invoice in USD.

  • Withdrawal and refunds

    To withdraw your child, you’ll need to provide 60 days’ notice of withdrawal in writing (or 60 days’ fees will be payable in lieu of notice). Parents must ensure that written acknowledgement is received from the school, confirming withdrawal.

    Refund conditions:

    • Before 31 May 205: Full refund.
    • Between 1 June and 1 July 2025: Full refund, minus the deposit of 20,000 RMB.
    • Between 1 July and 17 August 2025: Full refund, minus 25,000 RMB.
    • Leaving in the middle of the academic year: 60 days’ notice of withdrawal in writing. See the table below for tuition fee refund details.
