My fears quickly vanished upon arriving at the hotel, where I was rushed into meeting my roommate for the week and so many other warm, incredible people, individuals who defied yet somehow simultaneously met all my expectations with their humility and intellect. Needless to say, I felt comfortable right away.
Everything was perfectly coordinated and organized for us to enjoy a great week, challenges and all. From the very first day, we were introduced to the concept of microgravity, the focus of the main project we would be working on throughout the week. In addition, we participated in a Climate Action Simulation, where we were tasked with finding long-term solutions to climate change in an MUN-style summit. Each day, we were taken to different workshops and laboratories across the MIT campus, meeting and learning from countless passionate MIT students and researchers from diverse fields. Alongside this, we explored MIT’s campus (including its museum), Harvard, and the city of Boston by both land and water.

Honestly, all of my expectations were completely blown away. I never imagined I would find myself in such a welcoming, encouraging environment so far from home, surrounded by so many like-minded people, especially considering how scared I had been to even submit my contest entry just months earlier.
So for anyone interested in applying:do not hesitate!
